What We Do

We test everything that goes in our booth to make sure it is properly functioning and working as expected unless otherwise stated on the sales tag. Each sales tag lists the basic servicing that has been done where needed.

We spend a considerable amount of time on nearly every component to ensure the complete functionality of all features and the best performance possible. A complete external & internal cleaning is done on every item, as applicable. Internal service may include any of the following:

  • cleaning of all internal contacts and moving parts to remove oxidation and corrosion
  • lubricating of all internal moving parts
  • belt conditioning or replacement for turntables and all tape players
  • repair or replacement of minor parts
  • head demagnetizing on all tape players
  • calibrate speed of turntables and cassette players
  • tonearm setup: adjust weight & tracking force, align cartridge
  • buff and polish dust covers on turntables
  • meter-test cartridges
  • examine stylus with digital microscope
  • replace damaged speaker surrounds

When determining pricing, we search the internet for any matching models currently for sale or recently sold to calculate an average price, not including shipping fees or taxes. We price our items accordingly. Please keep in mind that we have spent time and money servicing and replacing any parts required for each component, and there are no additional shipping charges (or shipping damages) to worry about when purchasing locally.

We make every reasonable effort to sell only quality items; however, please be aware that you are purchasing vintage electronics equipment “as is” with no warranty, guarantee, or liability.

All vinyl records have been ultrasonically cleaned unless still factory sealed. We check for any damage affecting play-ability, and we replace inner sleeves with a new generic white sleeve, if needed – always leaving any original printed sleeves with the album, regardless of condition. An outer poly sleeve is included with all albums priced $20 & up, as well as for others on an as-needed basis. We price each album according to quality and competitive current pricing. As with the majority of vintage albums, please expect that many will have some level of wear to the album cover, sleeve, and/or the vinyl. There may be minor scratches or scuffs that did not cause skipping or significant popping during testing. Some could have mild popping as expected from vintage and are priced accordingly.
